Glocal-Think-Act, Local-Think-Act
as a Glocal Company
The world is going through an unprecedented period of change.
We are in an era described as ""VUCA"" (meaning volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) where conventional wisdom is no longer applicable and predictions are difficult to make. And in this era, companies must ensure their own sustainability, while simultaneously tackling a range of problems on a global scale and in human society from the perspective of the SDGs and decarbonization as set forth by the United Nations.
The promotion and expansion of sustainable recycling is now held up as a common materiality (meaning it is an important issue) for the whole world.
On the other hand, the shrinking of the domestic market due to the issues of a declining and aging population and the relocation of factories overseas that Japan faces has become a major social issue, just as the criticism of the lost 30 years of economic stagnation was, and Japan will be left behind by the growth of the global economy and technological innovation if we simply focus on our past successes.
Metal raw materials are known as green resources and flow borderlessly on the basis of free trade, and international demand for these materials increases with each passing year. Against this backdrop, it may be a good idea to reaffirm to ourselves that while remaining rooted and firmly anchored in Japan, we should look seriously at the rest of the world from a broad perspective, and take its growth trends into account in our business.
As a glocal company, it is our desire to support automobile manufacturing and other manufacturing industries as well as the recycling industry from the aspect of raw materials, to connect global and local resources, ideas, technology, and information through business, and to contribute to increasing both the social and economic value of our stakeholders.
Our philosophy is to respond flexibly to changes in society, to face challenges while always seeking the essence of things, and to create new positive impact and stories by exceeding expectations, and we are consistently making progress.
